Life is full of costs. Most spend money daily on things for life. What we spend our time and money on can come at a cost to the things we no longer prioritize or have time for. Certain actions and decisions can come at the cost of our reputation or at the cost of a lost relationship or two. One could argue that everything in life has a cost. So how can we have the wisdom and knowledge to know how to navigate all these costs?
We must make all of these decisions and base all of these priorities on the one cost that is most important, the cost of our Savior on the cross. That cost must be the lens in which we base everything else. The grace and redemption we find in Christ should be the guiding light to everything else we do—how we spend our money and how we spend our time (Titus 3:5-8). Who we spend our moments with and who we build relationships with during our time here on Earth.
We are called to be good stewards of what God has provided us. As Christ followers, how we use those resources matter! Not only should we be living a life in response to our salvation, but if we do not, that comes at a cost as well. If we are not actively pursuing our faith and considering the cost of how we spend our resources, then the spread of the gospel is hindered. Our efforts to share Jesus with others can even be tainted if we are not careful (1 Corinthians 8:9, 2 Corinthians 6:3). Living IN the World and OF the World can help Satan spread his lies more than spreading the saving grace we have in our redeemer. We are called to be intentional with our faith. Guide others to Christ and be good stewards of what God has given us (1 Peter 4:10, Colossians 3:23). This requires us to prioritize our relationship with our heavenly Father. It comes with a calling to seek Him for all wisdom and guidance in your life.
Pray to Him, read His Word and allow the sacrifice of Christ to be the lens in which you make all decisions about your time and money.
